Adrienne
A vital lifeline
Adrienne, a 75-year-old widow and longtime resident of Solano County, was temporarily caring for two grandchildren while trying to navigate her Social Security check and a meager $250 monthly Food Stamp allowance. Despite her history of timely payments, one missed water bill led to escalating late fees.
The ADRC offered application assistance, and helped budget bills to income. They connected her to resources that eased her burden: from programs that offered electricity relief to transportation options that reduced fuel expenses. Adrienne qualified for our financial assistance, and was overjoyed on the day we called to let her know we could cover her water bill in full.
